Leanne Davis

HOLISTIC MENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER

Leanne is based in Wee Waa in the rich agricultural delta of northern New South Wales and works online with clients throughout Australia.

Leanne is passionate about helping people, especially mothers, to rediscover, rejuvenate and restore their personal empowerment. She is an advocate for optimal health and wellbeing and believes we can each do a lot more to understand the influence our “diet” has on us, that what we feed our bodies also feeds our minds, and what we feed our minds also feeds our bodies.

A mum of two, Leanne well recalls her past experiences managing postpartum depression in the face of ongoing crippling anxiety, unhealed trauma, migraines, adrenal fatigue, excessive weight gain, and relying on a mix of antidepressants and alcohol to numb her emotional and physical pain.

Her pathway to a healthier mind, body, and spirit has been one of self-acceptance, inner child healing, and learning to draw on the support of others to strengthen her connection with herself.

“At my lowest, I was struggling emotionally, mentally and physically and couldn’t show up for my partner the way he needed me to”, Leanne says. “The gap between us became so big that we realised we were both living separate lives under the same roof. He was talking about leaving so we could be happy. My pain and anguish were affecting my husband and my children. We knew we both deserved happiness and we loved each other enough that we couldn’t imagine life without each other in it. So we decided to do the inner work.”

Leanne is passionate about helping people build greater connections with themselves and their partners, especially parents who after many years of dedicating themselves to their role as parents struggle to reconnect with who they are as individuals and partners.

Leanne and her partner committed to working on themselves separately at first, agreeing to bring their learnings and understanding of themselves and each other together later on. “We were both totally blind to the fact that finding the answers was an inside job,” she says. I went from fear to clear, from reactive to responsive, and from overwhelmed to navigating balance. I learned to become inter-dependent instead of independent and co-dependent.

“What we both unlocked for ourselves and each other is huge and we have made such significant changes to our collective life that I hardly recognise the old “us” anymore. I’m so grateful to them, though. Because of their decisions, we live an amazing life today.”

When she’s not coaching, Leanne can be found on their family farm where they grow cotton, wheat and canola, and supports her husband’s earthmoving equipment hire company. She grows her own veggies and cares for her chickens, four Labradors and a Jack Russell.

On school holidays she welcomes home her teenage daughters from boarding school with open arms, an open heart and an open mind, a far cry from her days of early motherhood.

“When things feel like they’re getting too hard or challenging, I play, we play together as a family and bring ourselves home to our hearts. We do things from a place of love and connection and remember that we are all on a grand adventure.”
